چکیده

UNLABELLED Investigating neuronal and photoreceptor regeneration in the retina of zebra fish has begun to yield insights into both the cellular and molecular means by which this lower vertebrate is able to repair its central nervous system. However, knowledge about the signaling molecules in the local microenvironment of a retinal injury and the transcriptional events they activate during neuronal death and regeneration is still lacking. To identify genes involved in photoreceptor regeneration, we combined light-induced photoreceptor lesions, laser-capture microdissection of the outer nuclear layer (ONL) and analysis of gene expression to characterize transcriptional changes for cells in the ONL as photoreceptors die and are regenerated. Using this approach, we were able to characterize aspects of the molecular signature of injured and dying photoreceptors, cone photoreceptor progenitors, and microglia within the ONL. We validated changes in gene expression and characterized the cellular expression for three novel, extracellular signaling molecules that we hypothesize are involved in regulating regenerative events in the retina. Structure and arrangement of photoreceptors in the retina of big eye kilka, Clupeonella grimmi (Kessler 1877)

The big eye kilka, Clupeonella grimmi, is a marine fish living in depth of 20 to 200 meter of the Caspian Sea. Its eye and retina were processed for histological and SEM studies. Paraffin embedded retina was cut radially and tangentially in 5 ?m thickness and stained with hematoxylin and eosin method. The unstained sections were manipulated for SEM image observations. Tangential retinal sect...

Antibodies against Pax6 immunostain amacrine and ganglion cells and neuronal progenitors, but not rod precursors, in the normal and regenerating retina of the goldfish.

Pax6 is a developmental regulatory gene that plays a key role in the development of the embryonic brain, eye, and retina. This gene is also expressed in discrete groups of neurons within the adult brain. In this study, antibodies raised against a fusion protein from a zebra fish pax6 cDNA were used to investigate the expression of the pax6 gene in the mature, growing, and regenerating retina of...

DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF ELECTROCHEMICAL BIOSENSOR BASED ON NANO-GRAPHENE TO DETECT SEROTONIN IN DIABETIC ZEBRA FISH

Background: A novel nanocomposite-modified electrode based on reduced graphene oxide (rGO) decorated with crown-ether and gold nanoparticles (GNPs) on the surface of a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was fabricated to investigate 5-HT determination. Methods: The morphology of nanocomposite was characterized by scaning electron microscopy (SEM). Diabetic zebrafish was obtained by overfeeding via ...

Effect of TiO2 nanoparticles on the acute toxicity of Ag nanoparticles in zebra fish (Danio rerio)

The potential entry of nanomaterials into the water ecosystems increased following their increasing use. In addition to the direct effects of nanomaterials on aquatic organisms, they also affect the toxicity of other pollutants on aquatic organisms. This study assessed the presence of titanium dioxide nanoparticles (nTiO2) in water on acute toxicity of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on zebra fish...
